Grilled Meatballs?  Of Course.

I have smoked a turkey and a ham before, but this year I just let the wife use the oven. What did you do for Christmas dinner this year?

This year I grilled meatballs. That's right... meatballs!

It's really not quite as odd as it might sound at first. The main thing is... to make them big enough so they won't fall through the grill.

I used a pretty simple recipe of

1 lb ground beef
2 Tbl onion
1 clove garlic
1/2 tsp celery salt
pepper (your taste)
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

I made two batches. One had rice added to the meat mixture. The other one was supposed to have crackers, but I didn't have any. So instead of going to the store after some, I just took some spaghetti and crushed it up.

After rolling them around on the grill and getting some good grill marks, I put them into a sauce. The sauce was real easy too. Here is what I used as ingredients.

1/4 c vinegar
1/2 c ketchup
1 Tbl brown sugar
1 clove crushed garlic
2 Tbls Worcestershire sauce

Heat the sauce. Add the cooked meatballs and simmer for about 30 minutes. Serve hot.

They actually turned out pretty good. It's different, and not too hard to do. Give it a try sometime. I bet you'll like it too.

Go ahead... have another drink.
