Smoked Brisket Rub - When to Rub

How soon in advance would you suggest me putting the smoked brisket rub? I've seen where some guys do it as much as 2 days in advance, while others do it right before putting the brisket on the smoker

Editor's Qs

Crank up the heat on your grill, let it go for about 10 minutes, give the grates a quick brush and your ready to go, right?

Grills are Self Cleaning?? Wrong.

Is that the way you would clean your pots and pans? Even though, I must admit, I have been guilty of doing the same thing, grills need to be cleaned regularly. A clean grill cooks better. A grill that's clean also has fewer flare-ups and lasts longer.

By clean I mean not only cleaning the grates, but getting inside and cleaning all the parts. I recently bought a power washer with the intent of using it to clean off the driveway and keep the car clean. But it works great for cleaning the grill too.

Don't think that by killing off the germs with high temperature is all you need to do. Clean grills don't invite rust to grow, they cook more efficiently, and even allow food to taste better.

The Challenge Continues.

I don't want to give you the idea that I can't be stumped, but... let's see what happens.
